I love this poem by the mystery author...This is just to say...
I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox
and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast
Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold

I always wonder... he says he was sorry, but was he? He ate more than one. He even thought about how they were part of someone else's plans. Maybe he's the guy at work who ignores the names on the lunches in the fridge and just gets into everyone's food anyway. I want to call him a jerk, and move on.
But... as I read... I can't help but think that he's saying... "Life is so sweet, life is so cold...forgive me, but I'm grabbing life where I need to grab it..."
Then I want to forgive him, even though he left me hungry.
In my house, it would be about mandarin oranges.
